Eliot Porter (1901-1990). Dr. Porter is often referred to as the color Ansel Adams. He is one of the major figures in the acceptance of the use of color in photography. His dye transfer prints are unsurpassable. To see his work, please start with his Intimate Landscapes portfolio page. James H. Evans (1954-) is a familiar name to most of our clientele and has a national reputation. He lives in Marathon, Texas. His prints in this show come from his Rock, Paper, Scissors series. These are striking surreal evening scenes from his beloved West Texas desert. Mitch Dobrowner (1956-) is new to the gallery. His unusual Southwest landscapes have been published extensively, and he is handled by an increasing number of dealers. His gorgeous digital prints are creatively made, from the camera to computer development to the print. |
