Mr. Williams was born (1951) and raised in Fort Worth. He has been in numerous exhibits since the late 1970s and authored a book entitled Fort Worth’s Legendary Landmarks in 1997. He has taught on the college and university levels for years and is currently the Chair of the photography program at Collin County Community College at Plano. We are pleased to be showing the strong documentary work of Byrd Williams. A fourth generation photographer, he is best known for his urban work around Fort Worth, Texas. Now, he also photographs in Dallas, and during the last few years, he has brought his camera to Germany. As a result, he has been in four one-person exhibits there. He produces extremely detailed photographs, usually as triptychs, using a very large format view camera.
